These quick healthy blueberry yogurt popsicles use plant based yogurt and pure maple syrup to sweeten for a delicious paleo and vegan summer treat!
My kids have been asking for popsicles and I wanted to do something a little different than simple frozen fruit.
I recently discovered a few good paleo friendly yogurts lately and wanted to experiment with yogurt popsicles.
I’ve tried Kite Hill (the plain is paleo friendly), Culina and Forager and found that really anything will work in this recipe!
The best part I think is how fast they are to prep! I did not cook the blueberry mixture and they still turned out delicious.
I haven’t tested yet with other berries, but I believe most would work well! Let’s get into the recipe details 🙂
What You Need to Make these Blueberry Yogurt Popsicles
It really doesn’t get simpler than these swirled popsicles!
I prefer fresh blueberries because they have more flavor, and since you’re not cooking them down to make them sweeter, fresh sweet blueberries are a must.
Here’s everything you’ll need for these popsicles:
- fresh blueberries
- pure maple syrup
- lemon juice
- paleo friendly yogurt {Kite Hill, Culina, Forager, etc}
How to Make These Healthy Blueberry Yogurt Popsicles
Blend the blueberries with half of the maple syrup and all of the lemon juice until blueberries are mostly smooth but still have some texture.
In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt with the remaining maple syrup. Pour in the blueberry mixture and just barely swirl it in, since it will mix more as you scoop into the popsicle molds.
Use a spoon to spoon the blueberry yogurt mixture into the popsicle molds.
The mixture should be thick enough so you can put the popsicle sticks right in, but you can also partially freeze first before putting the sticks in.
Freeze for 6-8 hours or overnight, then gently run the mold until warm water to easily release the popsicles.
Where to Find Paleo Friendly Yogurt
I’ve found that Whole Foods has the largest variety of paleo friendly yogurt brands, but many other stores carry it now as well.
Forager is in several stores and made with cashew milk, Culina is coconut based and Kite Hill is almond milk based.
I like to go for the plain versions to avoid added sugar, but Culina has vanilla yogurt that’s sweetened with maple syrup.
These yogurts are great for baking too, or just to serve with some grain free granola or fruit!

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup divided
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 16 oz paleo friendly yogurt {Kite Hill Culina, Forager, etc}
Instructions

Blend blueberries with 2 tablespoons maple syrup and 1 teaspoon lemon juice until blueberries are mostly smooth but still have some texture.

In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt with the remaining 2 tablespoons of maple syrup (skip the syrup if your yogurt is already sweetened). Pour in the blueberry mixture and just barely swirl it in*, since it will mix more as you scoop into the popsicle molds.

Use a spoon to spoon the blueberry yogurt mixture into the popsicle molds. The mixture should be thick enough so you can put the popsicle sticks right in, but you can also partially freeze first before putting the sticks in. If your popsicle mold has a cover with openings for the sticks, this is the best way to freeze them.
